Biography

Dr. Barbaros Çetin received his master’s degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Middle East Technical University and his doctoral degree from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Vanderbilt University.

His master’s research was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Hafit Yüncü and Prof. Dr. Sadık Kakaç, focusing on the analysis of convective heat transfer in microchannels. His doctoral research, supervised by Prof. Dr. Dongqing Li, focused on the development of lab-on-a-chip technology for the separation of microparticles and cells.

Before joining Bilkent University, he served as a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus. In 2011, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Bilkent University and established the Bilkent University Microfluidics & Lab-on-a-Chip Research Group.

Dr. Çetin has completed TÜBİTAK 3501, 1001, and 1003 projects. He has published numerous research articles in prestigious journals such as Nature, Electrophoresis, Biomicrofluidics, Microfluidics and Nanofluidics, Electrochimica Acta, International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, International Journal of Thermal Sciences, and the ASME Journal of Heat Transfer.
