Biography
Onur Özcan conducts research at the intersection of mechanical engineering and robotics, developing nature-inspired miniature robots. He received his bachelor’s degree from the Mechatronics Engineering program at Sabancı University in 2007.
He received his master’s degree in 2010 and his doctoral degree in 2012 from the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Carnegie Mellon University. During his master’s and doctoral studies, he worked on the control and automation of nanoscale manufacturing using multiple microscopes.
Following his doctoral studies, he worked at the Wyss Institute at Harvard University in the Microrobotics Laboratory led by Prof. Robert J. Wood. There, he conducted research on the fabrication and control of bioactive robots.
Since 2015, he has served as a faculty member in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Bilkent University and has directed the Miniature Robotics Laboratory.
