About the Laboratory
Our laboratory was founded in January 2015 by Dr. Onur Özcan as part of the Bilkent University Department of Mechanical Engineering.
Research Areas
The core research interest of our laboratory is novel miniature robotic systems. Our fields of interest include non-conventional manufacturing techniques suitable for miniature robot fabrication, novel actuators and transmission mechanisms for miniature robots, small-scale physics underlying miniature robot locomotion, and novel robot designs that enable miniaturization.
Application Areas
The robots we develop can be deployed to access environments with hazardous conditions and/or those reachable only through narrow openings, and to conduct search-and-rescue, inspection, and reconnaissance activities in such areas.

Our projects are funded under TÜBİTAK’s 2232, 3001, 3501, and 1003 programs.
