Biography
Ali Javili studied Mechanical Engineering at Sharif University of Technology in Tehran, Iran, and subsequently moved to Germany for his graduate studies.
He completed his master’s degree in Computational Engineering at Ruhr University Bochum in 2007 and later received his doctoral degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg.
From 2013 onward, he worked on the magneto-mechanical modeling of materials at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg and later served as a postdoctoral researcher at the Materials Laboratory of Stanford University.
Before joining Bilkent, he worked as a senior researcher at the Institute of Mechanics at TU Dortmund from 2016 onward. His current research focuses on understanding computational multiphysics and multidimensional complex material behaviors, in which lower-dimensional energies and higher-order ansatzes play an important role.
